THE STORY OF DAVID
David A. Rosario
is a fourteen-year old boy, whose world and dreams of becoming a scientist
were shattered on June 26, 1999 when his small body was struck by a
reckless truck driver in his homeland of the Dominican Republic. As a
result of this accident, David who is an A student and a sophomore in high
school, suffered very serious damages to his left leg which was broken in
three different places.
A very poor
surgical procedure was performed in his native country, which left David
not only almost crippled needing a walker constantly but also seriously
depressed. With the help from a friend, David came to Miami and was taken
to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was examined by Dr. Stephen
Stricker.
Dr.
Stricker said that David’s constant pain and suffering, can be eliminated
with corrective surgery but the cost ($30,000.00) is beyond our financial
capabilities. The fact that David can become an active and happy child
again has moved us to write this letter and humbly request your help in
making David’s future a bright one again.
